Masters Of The Universe Classics

.....I am speechless....just speechless. Alright so if you have any connection to the masters of the universe series, or you are in anyway interested in these figures......brace yourself. New Classics figures based on the original masters of the universe figures have been announced....first off let me say that the style of these figures are amazing. They're not like the Transformers classics, where they're updated versions of the originals...but more like the 25th annaversary Gi.Joes. Where the Design is chillingly faithful to the original, but updated in terms of articulation and in the level of detail. I was a big fan of the MOTU line way back when...those were more updated to A newer generation...here we have figures for the collectors...WITH HE-MAN'S MULLET!!! YESSS! 3 have been announced so far:

He-Man: wow.....wow....from the harness to the hair...and of course..he-man's sword...it's all here. Now we can only hope that it connect to skeletor's sword.

Beast Man: OH MY GOD!!! LOOK TA THE DETAIL!!! WOW! just wow.....i started gettin REALLY excited at the point I saw this picture...beware thought....some bad news is ahead....

Skeletor: The big daddy of all 80's villians...the mighty skeletor. The best thing about this figure? The face. I love how the paint is identical to the originals....fantastic....just fantastic.

(classics skeletor pic not available. The magazine cover is the best I have.)

Now.....the bad news....*gulp*.....these figures.....retail.....$20....and as if that was bad enough.....*double gulp* they're only available online from mattel's new online store MattyCollector.com Which means these things are gonna be impossible to get...unless you stay up late all night. BUT....there is some "good" news. Only ONE figure will be available each month. So Your wallet will have time to recover after each purchase.

My Opinion? Wow...some GREAT news and some CRAP news all in the same swoop....on the Cap-O-Meter...they score a 3 out of 5.....wow i hate doing that. Bad availability can ruin everything that is good in a toyline. (movie masters ring a bell)

Leader Cyber Prime And Crumplezone 2-pack

Ok so this "new" two-pack has just been unveiled...and part of me wants to hug hasbro...the other wants to strangle them. Why? well the lazy-sacks-o-shiznit that they are are re-releasing some cybertron figures that should be on the markdown counter for somthing brand-spankin new. Why? Because they're LAZY! Not a color nor a sculpt has been changed. And can you imagine how much this is going to be at retail???? A recently $50 figure and a $20 figure packaged together...thats $70 dollar minimum...i wouldn't be suprised if they jacked up the price another $10. And then the kicker is the fact that they're being passed off as Universe figures. At least the Blaster is a remold/repaint....still, EVEN that bugs the ever loving crap out of me. So why would I even consider this two-pack? Because Cybertron prime is a kick ass figure. One that I do not have the pleasure of owning. I was SUPPOSED to get him black monday...or black friday, whatever its called, but my Toys R Us got Cybertron Metroplex in-stock instead. Chromedome is just a bonus in my opinion.

Optimus: overall he looks quite nice. from the Matrix Of Leadership in his chest to the kick-ass- ness of his removable jet pack thingy....i really do love this guy. and judging by the three plus modes i saw in robofeeneys review (i'd would link you but he went ape-shiznit on his profile) he looks worth the price alone.

Crumplezone: I am not familiar with this guy at all...so be warned. I'm not too crazy for his alt mode....it's WAY too overdone. I've seen that same kind of futuristic car-thingy loads of times. The color scheme is quite nice looking though. The lime green goes well with the black of his body....the thing that really gets me thought is....the head sculpt. I LOVE the jaw. It reminds me of Jaws from James Bond....that kind of "powerful but slow look". I ,also, am fallin in love with this guy

Twins?

My Opinion?

  1. I hate hasbro
  2. I think it's a lazy move.....but....
  3. the figures look nice.
  4. There could be worse figures to re-issue.....right?

overall this 2-pack gets a 3 out of a possible 5 on the Cap-O-Meter

New Wal-Mart Exclusive 12 Inch Gi.joes

Some brand new reproduction joes have been anounced as an exclusive to wal-mart. The toys will feature one figure from each service; Navy, marines, airforce, and the good ol' U.S. Army. The 12 inch figures will come in their original "shoebox" packaging, and will retail for around 10 bucks a piece. Even more exciting than that, each branch will feature one reproduction outfit just like the originals, packaged in repro style window boxes. I've heard of one outfit....and it's deffinitly the most exciting. The outfit for the navy branch is the infamous frogman suit....which if you don't know is one of the most expensive suits on the secondary market today. especially because they're so hard to keep in good condition. no word on the prices for the outfits, but with the rumor of some repro talking joes that feature two previously unreleased phrases....looks like the joes will be attempting a full-scale invasion of your toy isle VERY soon.

my opinion? CAN NOT WAIT. they're really cheep, WAY cheeper than originals, they're basically the same as the originals.....how could you sak for more? They score a 5 out of a possible 5 on the cap-o-meter.

Battle Roller For Pre-Order On BBTS.Com

Arg....So Battle Roller is now on bbts or bigbadtoystore.com.....and the price....well it's $20 over what I said the price would be....sooooooo....ya sorry about that. The bbts price is $54.99, although they fail to mention that the toy can be used with classics and movie prime. they only mention masterpiece prime.....hmmmmmmm. very fishy. Oh and release date is this November....My birthday month....this one might be coming my way.

My opinion? well because there is a slight chance I could actuall get this figure....it scores a 5 out of 5 on the Cap-O-Meter.
